A clean file gets an accurate instant price and goes straight to the laser. Our quote page checks your file and tells you exactly what to fix.
Draw the part at full size in inches or millimetres, and set the units in your program before exporting. No 3D models.
Every outline and every hole must be one closed loop. Gaps, loose lines and unjoined corners can't be cut.
Lines drawn on top of each other get cut twice and push the price up. Delete them before exporting.
Remove dimensions, notes, title blocks, borders, centre marks, hatching and construction lines. Everything left in the file gets cut.
If you want lettering cut, convert it to outlines (curves) first. Keep small details at least as wide as the material is thick.
Send each part as its own file and set the quantity on the quote form. Don't nest or array parts yourself; we nest them for you.
For formed parts, upload the flat pattern DXF with no bend lines, and attach a PDF drawing showing bend locations, angles, direction, inside radius and key dimensions.
Make a sketch of the face (or the sheet metal flat pattern), right-click the sketch in the browser and choose Save as DXF.
For sheet metal, right-click the Flat Pattern and choose Export to DWG/DXF. For a plain plate, select the face and use File → Save As → DXF.
Right-click the face or flat pattern and choose Export as DXF/DWG.
Delete dimensions and notes, join outlines with JOIN, remove duplicates with OVERKILL, explode text with TXTEXP, then Save As DXF.
Convert text and shapes with Path → Object to Path, then Save As “Desktop Cutting Plotter (AutoCAD DXF R14)”.
Convert text with Type → Create Outlines, then File → Export → Export As “AutoCAD Interchange File (DXF)”.
Send a STEP, DWG, PDF drawing or a dimensioned sketch to canadalasercutting@gmail.com and we'll prepare a cut-ready DXF for you. File prep is quoted separately.
